A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity: /n RN - Med Surg /n/n Job Details: /n • Work on 4th and 5th floor medical surgical units with 60 total beds/n• Patient ratios: 5:1 on Med Surg Specialty 4th Floor and 6:1 on Med Surg 5th Floor/n• Must have telemetry and medical surgical experience/n• Work with remote telemetry, capnography, Alaris IV pumps, glucometers, and dynamaps/n• Use Alterra (Allscripts) electronic medical record system/n• Preferred skills include cardiac recognition, IV starts, and time management/n• Typical procedures include abdominal surgeries (cholecystectomy, appendectomy, colectomy), diagnostic procedures, paracentesis, thoracentesis, heart catheterizations/n• Handle gastric sleeves, total hip/knee/shoulder replacements, and orthopedic trauma repairs/n• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHS/n• Weekend shifts required with no on-call responsibilities/n• Mandatory float as needed to inpatient rehab, ED, or PCU without assignments outside skill level/n• Dress code: Currently black scrubs transitioning to Medical City Blue/n• Day shift staffing includes 1 charge nurse per floor, RNs, LVNs, PCTs, and unit secretary when grid allows/n• Night shift includes 1 charge nurse per floor, RNs, LVNs, and PCTs /n/n Facility: /n This healthcare facility operates a comprehensive medical surgical program across multiple floors with a 60-bed capacity and a staff of approximately 50 team members.
