Job Title: DC Associate Job Description

The DC Associate works in a busy distribution center, supporting day‑to‑day warehouse operations such as separating and wrapping pallets, shipping and receiving, and replenishing inventory. As product knowledge grows, the role expands to include independently receiving and picking orders and learning forklift operation with formal onsite training and certification. This position plays a key role in ensuring supplies are accurately received, stored, and shipped to local hubs that support offsite projects.

Responsibilities

• Separate pallets and materials efficiently to support daily warehouse workflows.

• Wrap pallets securely to ensure safe transport and storage of materials.

• Perform shipping and receiving tasks, including checking incoming and outgoing materials for accuracy.

• Replenish inventory during down time to maintain adequate stock levels and organized storage locations.

• Use RF scanners to track, locate, and update inventory information in the warehouse system.

• Assist with packaging materials and preparing orders for shipment to local hubs and branches.

• Develop product knowledge to accurately identify, receive, and pick orders independently.

• Support the distribution of supplies to local hubs that serve subcontractors working on offsite projects.

• Lift boxes up to 50 pounds safely and follow guidelines for handling heavier items using appropriate equipment.

• Participate in forklift training and certification when eligible, and apply safe operating practices once certified.

• Follow all warehouse safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.

• Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to meet operational goals in a 30‑employee distribution center.

Essential Skills

• Previous warehouse experience, including familiarity with basic warehouse processes.

• Ability to use or learn RF scanners for inventory tracking and order processing.

• Comfortable lifting up to 50 pounds and following proper lifting techniques.

• Basic understanding of shipping and receiving procedures within a warehouse environment.

• Ability to work in a fast‑paced distribution center and handle multiple tasks throughout the day.

• Attention to detail when separating materials, wrapping pallets, and handling inventory.

• Reliability and strong work ethic to support consistent warehouse operations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Forklift experience is a plus; onsite forklift training and certification will be provided for qualified employees without prior experience.

• Experience with warehouse inventory management processes and systems.

• Comfort working with RF scanner technology, even if training is required.

• Experience in packaging and preparing orders for shipment.

• Ability to learn product lines and apply that knowledge to receiving and picking orders accurately.

Work Environment

The role is based in a wholesale distribution center that specializes in electrical products, automation controls, and industrial supplies, operating with a team of around 30 employees. The environment is active and physically engaging, involving regular movement around the warehouse, lifting boxes up to 50 pounds, and using RF scanners and other warehouse equipment. Heavier items over 50 pounds are handled with appropriate equipment rather than lifted by hand. The facility focuses on efficient receiving, storage, and shipping of supplies to local hubs and branches, and employees work in typical warehouse attire suitable for manual work and safety requirements.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Antioch, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $18.50/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
