Financial Specialist Program Supervisor

Position Summary This position is responsible for general supervision, planning, coordination and evaluation of all business activities at RGCI. Responsibilities include cash management, accounting, Persons in Our Care account supervision, purchasing, control of the institution’s capital assets and equipment, stores inventories, and supervision of staff assigned to the Business Office. This position also has primary responsibility for administration and maintenance of the institution Local Area Network (LAN). Salary Information The starting pay is between $45136 and $77313 per year, plus excellent benefits. Pay will be set in accordance with the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code in effect at the time of hire. The pay schedule/range is 81-04. A 12-month probationary period is required. Job Details Applicants must be legally entitled to work in the United States (i.e., a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DOC sponsorship) at the time of application. The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting. The Department of Corrections may conduct pre-employment drug screens. Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which requires a pre-employment drug screen must pass the screen as a contingency to employment. Qualifications Minimally qualified applicants will have experience: Monitoring and auditing financial transactions to ensure accuracy (e.g., Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, purchasing activities, cash management, bank accounts, general accounting recordkeeping) Creating and maintaining financial reports and databases with various software (e.g., Excel, PeopleSoft). Managing, leading, and/or overseeing the work of others (e.g., training, advising, reviewing work) In addition to the above, well qualified applicant will have experience: Formally supervising the work of other staff (e.g., hiring, performance evaluations, discipline, dismissal, settling grievances) Performing budget management (e.g., analysis of expenditures, forecast analysis) Performing inventory control activities (e.g., maintaining records, performing audits, reconciling discrepancies) Questions can be directed to Phia Vang, Human Resources Specialist at View email address on click.appcast.io.
