Description

• Conduct thorough assessments for infants, children, adults, and elderly people using standardized measures and keen observational skills.
• Craft individualized treatment strategies aimed at meeting both short-term goals and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing objectives.
• Deliver targeted speech therapy focused on enhancing communication skills, language competence, fluency, voice quality, and swallowing ability.
• Engage in collaborative practices with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nursing staff, physicians, caregivers, and families to devise unified care plans.
• Educate patients and families with advice and strategies to bolster progress outside of therapeutic sessions.
• Participate in inpatient evaluations and interventions as needed, supporting seamless care throughout the patient's journey.
• Ensure detailed and prompt documentation in accordance with state, federal, and organizational requirements.
• Commit to ongoing learning and professional development, remaining abreast of advancements in the field through education and peer engagement.

Education

• Issuance of a master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
• Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not currently ASHA-certified.

Certifications

• Valid state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
• Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
• Essential: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days following employment.
