Job Title: RN PACU Agency Profession: RN Specialty: PACU Duration: 10 weeks Shift: Full Time, Monday through Friday Hours per Shift: 9 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years PACU RN experience required. License: Active RN license in the Commonwealth of Virginia, or active multistate compact license required. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS required (AHA). Must-Have: Strong perianesthesia background preferred. Must be comfortable with variable start times, including early starts. Pediatric experience is helpful but not required. Candidates must pass a mandatory ECG exam on Day 2 of orientation with one attempt. Description: This position requires an RN to work in the PACU setting. Float to PreOp, ECT, and GI Endoscopy as needed. Coverage will include PreOp, Phase 1, and Phase 2 depending on patient needs. Nurses will care for inpatient and outpatient surgical patients across multiple specialties. The unit has 13 bays (10 Phase 1, 3 Phase 2). Common cases include total joint arthroplasty, spine, orthopedic sports medicine, general surgery, vascular, plastic surgeries, urology, ENT, ECT, and GI endoscopy. Ratios are 2:1 for Phase 1 and 3:1 for Phase 2. The position requires participation in a rotating on-call commitment. Weekend and holiday shifts may be necessary under the on-call rotation. Scrubs will vary based on assignment, with OR attire provided on campus. A fast-paced environment with a strong focus on teamwork is essential. Candidates must be comfortable with rotating assignments and variable hours. This position provides an opportunity to work in a supportive and collaborative healthcare environment.
