Job Responsibilities Coordinate the efforts of all production assistants during newscasts and other live and recorded productions. Supervise and manage staff of news production assistants. Create schedules and manage crew time and assignments. Provide training for news production staff. Operate as the Technical Director for newscasts. Edit video content. Assist in upkeep of studio and production sets and properties. Participate in the design of video graphics, titles, music, and the creative look of shows. Make editorial decisions regarding the assembly of information, illustrations, and content. Perform miscellaneous job‑related duties as assigned. Qualifications and Skills BA or BS degree in Communications or Mass Communications with an emphasis on Television Production. At least one year of related experience (may be substituted for educational equivalency); two years of television directing experience preferred. Working knowledge of television production techniques and extensive experience with automation. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse constituencies. Ability to plan work schedules, assign duties, and provide or arrange for training. Creative decision‑making skills. Proficiency in organizing resources and establishing priorities. Ability to make administrative and procedural decisions. Skill in creating, composing, and editing written materials. Knowledge of professional audio/video and staging techniques, facilities, and equipment. Knowledge of audio/video archiving procedures. Knowledge of professional audio and/or video editing and post‑production procedures, techniques, and standards. Ability to formulate broadcast programming concepts and plan, develop, and implement live and pre‑recorded television programs. Knowledge of television graphic design methods and techniques. Knowledge of television production set design principles and techniques. Knowledge of television programming concepts, principles, methodology, and techniques.
