Job Title: Emergency Room Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: ER Duration: 14 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Active RN License Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS Must-Have: - Previous charge experience - Patient ratio experience - Experience with charting systems, preferably Epic - Community hospital experience preferred - Trauma Level II experience preferred Description: Specialty: ER Registered Nurse Shift is 3x12 Days from 07:00 to 19:30. Every other weekend is required. Holidays will be required as they are scheduled. Floating within skillset is expected. First-time travelers are accepted. Two years of experience is required. Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS. Skills needed include: - Abdominal pain management - Acute psychosis - Asthma care - BiPAP/CPAP management - Blood product administration - Care of ventilated patients - Central line care/management - Chest tube management - Continuous IV sedation - Management of cerebrovascular accidents - Drug overdose response - Administration of emergency medications - Epiglottitis care - General emergency department experience, adult and pediatric - Management of gunshot wounds - Head injury care - Hyperglycemia management - Identification and reporting of neglect or abuse - Infection control - Interpretation of arterial blood gases - Interpretation of dysrhythmias - Intubation skills - Isolation precautions and PPE - Administration of IV vasopressors - Management of splints - Management of dysrhythmias - Care for patients with multi-system organ dysfunction/failure - Management of violent behavior and mental/behavioral health conditions - Response to near drowning incidents - Obtaining 12 lead EKG/ECG - Orthopedic trauma care - Phlebotomy skills - Poison ingestion response - Procedural sedation administration and monitoring - Respiratory infection management - Seizures management - Skin disorders care - Starting and maintaining IVs - STEMI certified facility protocols - Stroke certified facility protocols - Care for suicidal patients - Management of traumatic amputation - Triage skills - Urinary tract infection management Interdisciplinary support is available. Candidates must be comfortable floating within scope, with no restrictions or special requests.
