IT Cybersecurity Specialist (INFOSEC)
This position is being filled under the memorandum from the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness (USD(P&R)) "Expansion of Direct Hire Authority for Certain Personnel of the Department of Defense," dated October 15, 2021. As a IT Cybersecurity Specialist (INFOSEC) at the NH-2210-2/3 some of your typical work assignments may include:
- Serves as an Information System Security Officer (ISSO) for DMEA.
- Performs reviews and identifies gaps in the DMEA cybersecurity architecture and develops solutions to accomplish cybersecurity program goals.
- Ensures cybersecurity-enabled products or other compensating security control technologies reduce any identified risks to an acceptable level.
- Develops plans and techniques to address new threats and improve the overall cybersecurity program and policies.
- Advises leaders and Authorizing Officials of changes affecting the organization's cybersecurity posture.
- Participates in risk governance processes to provide security risks, mitigations, and inputs on other technical risks.
- Performs cyber defense incident triage, to include determining scope, urgency, and potential impact; identifies the specific vulnerability; and makes recommendations that enable expeditious remediation.
