Teacher of the Deaf - $90 per hour Full or Part time

Since we are owned and operated by therapists, we understand the unique needs of therapists. At Boston Speech Therapy, we are seeking a qualified Teacher of the Deaf to join our dedicated team. The ideal candidate will possess the expertise to educate and support students who are deaf or hard of hearing, fostering an inclusive and effective learning environment. This position requires a commitment to providing specialized instruction tailored to meet the unique needs of each student. Key Responsibilities Design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for deaf and hard of hearing students Utilize effective teaching strategies and methodologies to enhance student learning Support the development of communication skills, including sign language and auditory skills Collaborate with families, audiologists, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to student support Conduct assessments to monitor student progress and modify approaches as needed Create and maintain a positive learning environment that promotes student engagement and independence Potentially work with students from elementary and high school 20 children per caseload Requirements Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Education of the Deaf or a related field; Master's degree preferred Valid Massachusetts Teacher of the Deaf License. Experience teaching students who are deaf or hard of hearing Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and knowledge of auditory-verbal techniques Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders Commitment to fostering an inclusive classroom environment that supports all learners Ability to develop and adapt instructional materials to meet individual student needs Benefits $90 per hour Full-time, 37.5 hours per week 1099 Contract 20 children per caseload plus consults across several schools #J-18808-Ljbffr ACM Staffers
