Park Aide - French Creek Reservation

Performs a variety of semi-skilled and unskilled labor jobs in maintaining and improving Park District resources and facilities, maintains buildings and sets up facilities for public functions, etc. Performs mainly routine tasks in maintenance and landscaping.

Requirements

1. Cleans buildings (i.e., sanitizes, sweeps, mops, etc.), structures (i.e., shelters, restrooms, etc.) and other park facilities.
2. Performs routine landscaping tasks including but not limited to mowing, pruning, weeding, mulching, watering, fertilizing, seeding, etc.
3. Litter and trash pickup.
4. Maintains facilities, storage areas, empties trash, etc.
5. Sets up facilities (i.e., chairs, tables, A/V equipment).
6. Operates vehicles and equipment (i.e., pickup trucks, tractors, mowers, Gators, and other heavy equipment).
7. Repairs building equipment as needed.
8. Installs and maintains split-rail fencing, etc.
9. Light lifting (up to 80 pounds).
10. Staining and painting.
11. Assists with purchases of supplies as authorized.
12. Communicate with other staff, supervisors, and park visitors, both in writing and verbally.
13. Participates in park safety programs and adheres to Park District policies and standards.
14. Able to work in all weather conditions.
15. Performs related duties as apparent or assigned.

Seasonal

Pay Rate: Minimum wage to $15 per hour, commensurate with employee's experience.

Seasonal employees can work a maximum of 120 days within 6 months, and up to 39 hours per week.

Must possess a valid Ohio driver's license. New employees must satisfactorily complete a background check. Lorain County Metropolitan Park District policy prohibits hiring new employees who are tobacco users.
