About the Position

Job Title: Cardiac Cath Lab Technician II Profession: Cardiac Cath Lab Tech Specialty: Cardiac Catheterization Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years preferred License: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required Certifications: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required Must-Have: Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required Description: The Cardiac Cath Lab Technician II is a proficient member of the cath lab team. This role involves meticulous preparation of the lab, equipment, and supplies. The technician ensures accurate patient documentation and maintains sterile technique throughout procedures. The Technician II serves as a valuable resource and mentor for junior technicians and technologists. This role includes sharing expertise in advanced procedures and technologies while upholding patient safety and departmental efficiency. Responsibilities include: Meeting competency expectations. Ensuring all major equipment is operational and documenting as required for quality control. Participating in daily room checks and stocking supplies. Accessing daily patient schedules and necessary information for assigned procedures. Ensuring the correct equipment, supplies, and room configuration for all procedures. Collaborating with the procedure team to ensure patient care and departmental efficiency. Entering patient information accurately in computer and imaging systems. Ensuring proper procedure documentation and hemodynamic measurements during assigned procedures. Securing patient positions appropriately during procedures. Training and completing competencies to operate cath lab equipment, including imaging and hemodynamic systems. Supporting the needs of physicians and ensuring patient safety during procedures. Adhering to aseptic technique and stopping the line if a sterile technique break is identified. Following organizational policies related to patient safety, privacy, infection control, and communication. Fostering teamwork and collaboration by sharing knowledge and supporting colleagues. Assisting with patient transport as necessary. Maintaining proficiency in access site management. Acting as a radiation safety representative during fluoroscopy. Complying with attendance and productivity standards. Supporting the department's commitment to safety and customer service. Upholding dress code standards. Promoting values of dignity, integrity, excellence, compassion, and stewardship. Serving as a mentor for Technicians and Technologists I. Acting as a resource for advanced procedures and technologies.
