The Commercial Sheetmetal Mechanic is skilled in fabricating, cutting, and assembling precise metal components, primarily for custom fabrication and repair projects. This role requires expertise in sheet metal work while operating within a team environment that ranges from small fabrication groups to large production teams. The mechanic works under varying degrees of supervision and ensures all safety standards and quality controls are rigorously maintained throughout the fabrication process.

Responsibilities

• Perform sheetmetal fabrication to create required parts and assemblies
• Cut metal materials accurately using appropriate tools and techniques
• Prepare assemblies for installation or further processing
• Operate fabrication tools and equipment safely and efficiently
• Read and interpret blueprints to meet project specifications
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations at all times
• Handle and manage materials properly to prevent damage
• Maintain equipment to ensure optimal operating condition
• Conduct dimensional measurements to verify part accuracy

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of sheetmetal fabrication experience
• Proficient in blueprint reading
• Proven background in metal fabrication
• Experience with sheetmetal work and measurement tools
• Strong safety practices and problem-solving skills
