Starting Date: Immediately Qualifications Kentucky Counseling certificate, license, or other legal credentials required and/or willingness to attain IIA endorsement. Experience and other qualifications as specified by the Superintendent. Ability to work effectively with students and staff. Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues. Reporting To Director of Special Education Supervises Students Job Goal To provide psychoeducational services to students through consultation, counseling, assessment, staff development, and program evaluation and development. Performance Responsibilities Psychological Services Participate in establishing priorities for the delivery of psychological services. Maintain records of services requested and delivered. Interpret educational policies, programs and procedures related to psychological services. Explain roles and responsibilities of school psychologist to students, parents, school staff, and community. Work with school personnel to accomplish identified program goals and objectives. Apply psychological research data to the development and evaluation of educational programs and services. Utilize school and community resources to maximize program effectiveness. Program Management/Leadership Organize daily practices in agreement with current knowledge of school psychology. Promote the use of school and community resources, including technology, as additional means of accomplishing assessment goals. Assist in screening students possibly in need of more comprehensive assessment. Apply psychological and psychoeducational assessment techniques as planned. Apply diagnostic assessment within specific areas of deficiency to aid in instructional planning. Implement intervention procedures with individuals and groups. Apply local, state and federal laws, policies, and regulations to the delivery of school psychological services. Formulate educational recommendations and interventions consistent with assessment data. Contribute to the development and evaluation of instructional programs as planned. Plan or assist in the planning of psychological in‑service training and educational and psychological programs for students, staff, and parents. Interpersonal Relationships Demonstrate positive collaborative relationships with students. Demonstrate positive collaborative relationships with staff. Demonstrate positive collaborative relationships with administrators. Demonstrate positive collaborative relationships with parents/community. Professional Responsibilities Demonstrate punctuality and good attendance for all duties. Adhere to school board policies and administrative procedures. Adhere to the state Professional Code of Ethics. Participate in professional development activities to continually upgrade skills. Make studies of new practices and techniques for improving the keeping of records. Attend meetings and other school related programs as necessary and appropriate.
