Maintenance MechanicAdvancement opportunities Maintenance Mechanic II Maintenance Mechanic I Security GuardPosition Summary: This position consists of routine cleaning and custodial work in the project offices, lab and shop. In addition, this individual is responsible for minor maintenance and cleaning duties both inside and outside the buildings. This work is generally performed under close supervision and is subject to regular review.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Responsible for cleanliness and minor repair of project offices.Runs errands.Responsible for the janitorial duties of the office.Work Leadership Responsibilities: This position does not regularly provide work leadership or full personnel management to any employees.Financial Responsibility: No significant financial responsibilities.Qualifications:Education (required level of education): High school diploma preferred.Experience (minimum years and types of related experience required): Some experience is preferred in janitorial or general cleaning work.Certificates, Licenses, Registrations (any specialized certifications licenses or registrations required by TRA or other authority in order to do the job, including those the incumbent must be able to obtain): Valid Texas driver's License.Knowledge (information or facts that employee must know in order to be able to perform the work): Knowledge and use of cleaning tools, such as buffers, vacuum cleaners, etc.Skills and Abilities (developed capability to use or apply knowledge effectively or dexterity/coordination in the performance of physical tasks): Requires an individual who takes pride in doing the job well.Guidance Received: Receives regular instructions and chooses between a range of procedures. Follows and chooses from a range of established procedures, work methods, and direct instructions. Has some flexibility about the sequence of work.
