Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: ER Holding Duration: 18 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year License: Active Nursing License Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Must work 2 out of 3 holiday bundles (Thanksgiving & the day after, Christmas Eve & Christmas Day, New Year's Eve & New Year's Day). No RQI Certifications accepted. No locals within a 100-mile radius. Description: The Adult Admission Inpatient Unit is a fast-paced unit. It functions as an admission unit next to the Emergency Department. This unit takes admitted patients from the Emergency Department. The unit begins the inpatient standard of care until patients can be placed in other progressive care units. Ratios are 1 RN to 4-5 patients. There are 17 beds with up to 8 hall beds. RNs are required to monitor and interpret telemetry. They must manage a variety of medical equipment effectively. Time management skills are crucial. The patient population served is diverse and includes various specialties except ICU level patients. Relief charge responsibilities may be required. Floating to meet facility needs is required. RNs may float to the emergency department for admitted patients, ICU for sub-acute care assignments, and any inpatient areas. The unit requires handling frequent admissions and transfers. Basic skills needed include starting and maintaining IVs, managing dysrhythmias, and interpreting telemetry. The unit supports interdisciplinary collaboration with various services.
