The Production & Utility employee reports directly to the Kitchen Manager and is responsible for the duties so assigned by the manager.

• Enrolled as a Grand Rapids Public Schools Student.
• Demonstrated good attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to work well with students and staff.
• Willingness to be trained in all areas of food production.
• Knowledge of or the willingness to learn proper sanitation and food handling procedures.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a diverse environment.
• Demonstrated ability to participate as a member of a team.

Physical demands include standing, walking, sitting, using hands to finger, handle, or feel, reaching with hands and arms, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, talking, hearing, and tasting. The employee must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds on a regular basis, must have the ability to bend easily at the knees and stand for extended periods of time. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust/focus.

The work environment is usually loud to moderate.

Mental functions include comparing, analyzing, communicating both orally and in writing, copying, coordinating, computing, synthesizing, evaluating, using interpersonal skills, compiling and negotiating.
