Scale Attendant
Monitor and process incoming truck traffic at the scale. Accurately log vehicle and load information into an Excel spreadsheet. Perform visual inspections of loads from an elevated platform. On approximately one load per day, direct the driver to dump the material so the Scale Attendant can conduct a closer inspection for quality or compliance issues.
Essential Duties
- Observe and direct incoming truck traffic in a safe, orderly manner.
- Record required truck, driver, and load data in Excel.
- Visually inspect loads from the platform for visible issues or contaminants.
- Instruct the driver to dump selected loads (typically one per day) and inspect the dumped material to confirm it meets facility standards.
- Report any problems or discrepancies according to established procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area around the scale and platform.
Requirements
- Reliable attendance and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel for data entry.
- Attention to detail and clear communication with drivers.
- Ability to perform the visual inspections and related tasks described above.
