Senior Echocardiographer

Sentara Heart Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia is seeking an Echocardiographer to join the Non-invasive Lab Team! Shift: Full Time – 8 hour shifts from 7:00am to 3:30pm. Call Required. Position Overview: Unit has 5 rooms for echos. The Echocardiographer will perform Echo and Stress Echo tests, Transesophageal (TEE) echocardiograms, and Doppler ultrasound. They will work in the Cardiac Non‑Invasive Lab, EP and Cath Lab, OR, ICU and also at the bedside. They perform two‑dimensional echocardiograms, Doppler echocardiograms, transesophageal echocardiograms, exercise and pharmacologic stress echocardiograms to evaluate heart and vessel abnormalities for the evaluation of heart disease and blood flow abnormalities. The technologist completes the structured report application. The Echocardiographer provides leadership to support the department with staffing schedule, accreditation, staff education, or other duties as defined by management. Supports Cardiac Operating Room echocardiogram needs. Candidates must have at least one of the four certifications: Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer, Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer, Registered Cardiac Sonographer, or Advanced Cardiac Sonographer. Must be a graduate of an accredited echocardiography program or equivalent education in accordance with IAC Guidelines. Required Education: Bachelor's Level Degree, Associate's Level Degree – Cardiovascular Technology or High School Diploma. Echo Tech experience in lieu of education: Yes. License and Certifications: Basic Life Support required. Adult echocardiography registry (ARDMS, RDCS or RCS) required within 12 months of hire.
