Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking an Operating Room Registered Nurse to join our dynamic surgical team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing both sterile and non-sterile environments of the operating room while coordinating patient care and safety throughout the perioperative process.

Key Responsibilities

• Circulate and manage patient care in the operating room.
• Ensure a sterile environment while coordinating workflow among surgical staff.
• Provide support as a first assistant when necessary.
• Assist in the preparation and organization of the operating room for various surgical procedures.
• Demonstrate confidence in circulating across various specialties including General, Orthopedic, Robotic, Urological, OB/GYN, Podiatry, ENT, and Plastics.

Shift Details

• Days: Monday to Friday
• Typical hours: 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, with variations based on surgical cases.
• Potential early start times at 6:00 AM and later ends, rotated among staff.
• Call requirements: 2 days per week as first or backup, plus one weekend per month (Friday, Saturday, Sunday).
• No floating between departments.
• Requests for time-off require advance notice.

Qualifications

• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
• Minimum of 2 years of dedicated surgical experience.
• Experience in circulating and a preference for candidates with scrub and first assist experience.

The working environment includes handling a variety of surgical procedures in a facility equipped with 8 regular beds, 2 cystoscopy beds, 1 endoscopy bed, and 2 C-section rooms. The electronic medical record system used is PICIS. Surgical scrubs are provided by the facility in green color.
