Lead Technician: Curriculum Aligned Materials Anne Arundel County Public Schools, Curriculum, Instruction & Assessment, Annapolis, MD. Job Description The Lead Technician ensures AACPS educators and students have reliable access to high‑quality, standards‑aligned instructional materials that support effective teaching and learning. By maintaining inventory systems, overseeing digital integrations, and coordinating curriculum material reviews, the role strengthens the infrastructure needed for consistent and equitable instruction across all schools. The position also builds staff capacity by training school‑based personnel and supporting digital product use, directly contributing to the Strategic Plan priority of investing in our staff. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Operate and maintain the Textbook Inventory Management System, the Textbook Ordering System, and the Instructional Materials Review platform. Train textbook managers and department chairpersons on the use of both inventory systems. Update inventory item records to reflect contract changes and apply corresponding modifications within connected applications. Assist the Manager of Curriculum Aligned Materials Office with the review process for curriculum‑aligned materials. Prepare documents and maintain databases tracking materials under review throughout each stage of the review process. Support functional managers with the implementation and maintenance of their digital products. Manage license allocations within the administrative rostering platform to ensure accurate provisioning and seamless access to digital platforms for purchased curriculum‑aligned materials. Provide user acceptance testing (UAT) support for functional managers testing curriculum‑aligned materials. Serve as the primary technical liaison between digital product vendors and AACPS functional managers, ensuring clear communication and smooth coordination during implementation and ongoing product support. Facilitate the maintenance and optimization of instructional digital products by relaying issues, updates, and enhancement needs between vendors and functional managers. Perform other related duties as assigned within the same classification or lower. Minimum Qualifications Education: Associate’s Degree in business or a related field of education from a regionally accredited college or university, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience: Five (5) years of relevant experience in an office or school environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Skills & Abilities: Excellent customer service, courtesy, discretion, and self‑control. Accuracy, attention to detail, troubleshooting, and follow‑through. Organizational and multi‑tasking skills. Ability to prioritize tasks during high workload periods. Judgment and the ability to seek guidance when necessary. Interpret specifications and follow instructions. Effective interpersonal skills with supervisors, administrators, and colleagues. Clear verbal and written communication. Ability to work with diverse populations. Proficiency with business technology applications (e.g., Video/Web Conferencing, Microsoft Office Suite – Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Licenses and Certifications: None required. Physical Demands & Working Conditions Standing, walking, and sitting range from under 1/3 to over 2/3 of the time. Keyboarding, pushing, pulling, reaching, talking, hearing, and other activities as required. Requires ability to work in an office/school environment primarily and occasional warehouse environment.
