The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF), Anchorage International Airport, is looking for a Maintenance Specialist - Electrician - Journey 2/Lead to help us Keep Alaska Moving! What you will be doing:
With minimal supervision, the candidate will professionally maintain the electrical systems associated with Anchorage International Airport (ANC). Duties encompass a wide range, including but not limited to, airfield lighting systems, exterior building lighting, street lighting, lift stations, pilot-controlled gates, and other electrical controls. The airport environment is dynamic, offering both excitement and challenges for electricians. The combination of advanced systems and constantly changing conditions demands a high level of skill. Responsibilities also include the maintenance and repair of all electrical systems across the airfield and complex, regardless of weather conditions. Effective communication on both company and air-to-ground radios is essential. Additional tasks involve equipment cleaning and maintenance, fixture rebuilding, locates for construction projects, testing backup generators, and airfield lighting inspections.
As part of the AFM crew, the candidate will inspect and repair lighting systems in various conditions. This could entail replacing light fixtures during "whiteout" conditions on runways and taxiways during snow events, repairing fixtures by boat on the lake, or training for emergencies. COMMERCIAL DRIVER'S LICENSE REQUIRED
This position requires the incumbent to possess a Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) per federal regulations (49 CFR 383), to register with the federal CDL Drug & Alcohol Testing prior to performing safety sensitive duties, and to provide consent to the Employer to review driver information in accordance with 49 CFR 382.
Selected candidates must comply with the DOT&PF Drug and Alcohol Policy and procedures and CANNOT start work in a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) position until Management Services or designee has received confirmation of the proposed appointee passing the required Pre-Employment drug test.
