EHS Site Lead

Eaton’s IS AER MSD division is currently seeking a EHS Site Lead. This role is based in Orchard Park, NY. Relocation assistance will be provided to candidates within the United States.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $130000 - $190000 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

Job Summary:

Eaton’s Mission Systems Division is currently seeking a EHS Site Lead to join our team. This position is based at our Orchard Park, NY facility.

This position leads the management of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) processes at Eaton Corporation’s Orchard Park, NY manufacturing facility. The EHS manager supports the creation of a strong culture that engages employees in the achievement of the company’s goal of zero EHS incidents.

Job Responsibilities:

• Lead the development, maintenance, and achievement of plant EHS goals & objectives in support of corporate and business group EHS strategic initiatives.

• Determine and monitor leading and lagging indicators to track performance against targets and objective.

• Lead risk assessment at the location to identify critical EHS hazards and aspects and collaborate with leadership team to create and implement mitigation action plans.

• Develop, implement, and maintain EHS programs, policies, and procedures in conformance with regulatory and/or company requirements (e.g. MESH).

• Work to assign MESH element champions and facilitate their engagement in ownership of the MESH elements.

• Work with leadership team and MESH element champions to complete an annual evaluation of compliance for EHS country, state, and local regulations.

• Investigate environmental and safety incidents to determine root cause and prepares and implements corrective action plans.

• Develop behavior-based safety programs and works collaboratively with all employees to create and promote a zero incident EHS culture throughout sites.

• Create a strong zero incident EHS culture and facilitate employee engagement through employee Safety Committee, safety related RIE events, and weekly GEMBA walks.

• Act as site point of contact for federal, state, and local inspections pertaining to EHS, and ensures compliance with air, water, wastewater, and storm water permits and other safety and environmental concerns.

• Develop/maintain plant emergency response plans and ensures drills are performed to document plan effectiveness.

• Create and monitor EHS training matrices to ensure that required training for targeted audience is defined and tracked to completion.

• Manage annual EHS budgets and capital upgrades/projects pertaining to EHS improvements

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution

• Minimum 8 years of EHS experience within industrial manufacturing environmental

• Minimum 4 years of experience managing people

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in EHS, Engineering, Environmental Engineering or Business from an accredited institution

• Master’s degree in EHS or related field from an accredited institution

• Lean or six sigma trainings or certifications

• 2 years of aerospace industry experience

• Familiarity with special processes (ATF explosives permit, X-Ray and Nondestructive test methods, hazard material permitting, high pressure testing operations, clean room environmental control)
