Clinical Laboratory Scientist II

Clinical Laboratory Scientist II position at Foresight Diagnostics (Natera) in Boulder, CO, focusing on end-to-end processing of biological samples for next-generation sequencing in cancer detection. Reports to Lab Manager and collaborates on process improvements within a quality-focused clinical laboratory environment.

Responsibilities

Perform diagnostic laboratory testing on patient samples including accessioning, extraction, library preparation, and sequencing
Execute manual and automated sample processing steps and quality control procedures
Provide technical guidance to non-licensed personnel on pre- and post-analytical activities
Interpret analytical results according to established procedures and report findings
Support process improvements and operational efficiency initiatives

Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science from accredited institution
Current ASCP board certification
Current Clinical Laboratory Scientist licensure (Generalist or CGMBS)
Working knowledge of DNA biology principles and molecular techniques (PCR, qPCR, extraction, ligation)
Experience with molecular biology instruments (Tapestation, Qubit, thermocyclers, plate readers)
Prior experience handling human biological materials and processing DNA specimens
Working knowledge of BSL-2 environment operations
