From design and installation to the maintenance of customized solutions, we provide truly turnkey solutions that help our partners increase productivity, enhance yields, reduce downtime, and lower overall costs.Location: USA | Ghent, KYWhat We Offer:Competitive pay, commensurate with experienceHealth/Dental/Vision plans401k company matchLife InsuranceShort Term Disability & Long-Term DisabilityEducational AssistanceEmployee Assistance PlanResponsibilitiesThis position is a senior-level shop employee who functions at a high level of capacity in several key areas, including acting as turn leader (where appropriate), having expertise with all equipment - plus troubleshooting, being available to assist in other shops, performing preventive equipment maintenance, and handling certain administrative functions.This is considered a safety sensitive position therefore will be subject to random drug testing as required.Primary Duties & Responsibilities:Apply material (product) and use all relevant equipment as requiredFollow all standard operating procedures regarding equipment and applications of productRegularly perform specialty applications, e.g., iron ladles, steel ladles, tundishesAssist in the rotation of product inventory and minimize usage of consumables.Be proficient in all aspects of equipment operation, maintenance and troubleshootingUnderstand all equipment operations; keep equipment clean and in working orderPerform advanced preventive maintenance of all equipmentPerform advanced troubleshooting of all equipmentOperate as turn leader, where appropriateCommunicate with Shop Supervisor regarding performance or policy compliance issuesAssists in administrative/recordkeeping functionsRecord consumable parts usage and monitor inventory of partsComplete turn paperwork and submit it as required by Shop SupervisorMaintain recordkeeping and field trial reportsDemonstrate proper equipment usage and knowledge of product applicationDemonstrate preventive maintenance and actively advocate safety awarenessLead by example regarding policy compliance, standard operating procedures, etc.Assist in emergency call outs, help in other shops, and handle special applicationsRespond to emergency equipment call outsAccept temporary fill in work at other shops, including, e.g., for blast furnaces and steel ladlesMaintain a strong focus on satisfying the customerMaintain a professional, high profile with the customerAssist in new trials provide feedback to Service and other managersAssist in the testing of new products, provide feedbackIdentify new sales opportunities, suggest new ideasSafety – Actively participate in our on-going safety culture which include the following:Follow All Safety Requirements of the Host MillClarity NetNear Miss ReportingRisk AssessmentStop Card ProgramOE/LeanActively participates in the implementation of sustainable improvement processes, such as 5S, Kaizen, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Daily Management Control, Standard Work and Problem Solving.Note: Management reserves the right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.QualificationsThe requirements listed in the sections that follow are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required to perform the duties of this job. Experienced with hydraulics, pneumatics, electricity and electronics, personal computer, and lasers. Thorough knowledge of Company products, applications and equipment for each task.Skills & Abilities: Outstanding technical, mechanical, plus leadership/influence, performance management basics, communication, interpersonal, adaptability, ability to learn quickly and work independently, initiative, integrity, customer and quality focus, analysis and judgment/problem-solving, safety awareness and planning and organizing. Must be able to operate equipment such as forklift, gun, caster equipment, wire feeder, laser, SEQUAD, Mag-O-Star, etc.Physical & Mental: Ability to lift to 50 pounds (or more in certain shops). Must be able to withstand the physical pressures of constant standing, walking, bending, climbing, kneeling, crouching, reaching, sitting, extremes of hot and cold, as well as carrying, lifting, pushing and pulling heavy objects. Must be able to gather data, draw conclusions and handle a high level of stress. General: May require working rotating shifts, emergency call outs, and overtime. Must wear all required safety gear. May be requested to travel. Must be comfortable working in heights. Will also be exposed to electromagnetic fields.Valid driver's license required. Minerals Technologies
