Water Plant Maintenance Mechanic

The Honolulu Board of Water Supply, Water System Operations Division is hiring a Water Plant Maintenance Mechanic to install, repair, maintain and overhaul a variety of water pumping plant and related water systems equipment. What You Will Do:

Install, maintain, repair, and overhaul water pumping equipment and plant machinery.

Service pumps and motors , including deepwell turbine and horizontal centrifugal units.

Inspect and test pumping plant equipment.

Assists with the installation, maintenance, overhaul and repair of electrical and electronic devices.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Special Working Conditions:

• Work hours are Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM.

• Will work around high voltage electricity and heavy machinery.

• Exposure to chlorine gas and moving machinery.

• Work on scaffolds and elevated surfaces.

• Some equipment is located underground, on roofs, or in remote areas with uneven terrain.
