Registered Nurse - Telemetry

Job Description

Job Summary:
The Clinical Nurse specializes in telemetry units, providing expert nursing care to patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring. This role emphasizes delivering safe, patient-centered care supported by evidence-based practices and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Assess, plan, and evaluate patient care needs, prioritizing interventions based on clinical judgment and nursing standards.
• Implement comprehensive nursing care utilizing the nursing process and integrating telemetry monitoring, medication administration, and patient education.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop, execute, and modify individualized care plans.
• Educate patients and families about their condition, medication, and post-discharge care to promote understanding and compliance.
• Conduct purposeful hourly rounding and respond proactively to patient needs, concerns, or safety issues.
• Document all patient interactions and clinical activities accurately and in accordance with regulatory standards.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid NYS Registered Nurse license with current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Possess a minimum of 2 years of recent tele and critical care nursing experience.
• Demonstrate proficiency with EPIC electronic medical records and telemetry systems.
• Have at least 1 year of travel nursing experience (preferred but not required for per diem).
• Maintain active enrollment or completion of a BSN program (preferred).
