Breast Oncology, Open Rank Faculty

Description The Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Virginia is seeking a radiation oncologist faculty member (open rank and open track) with a clinical focus on breast, prostate, lymphoma, and pediatrics. The successful candidate will provide clinical services, lead investigator‑initiated trials, conduct translational research, and participate in medical student education. Rank and tenure status will be contingent upon qualifications. Work Environment Our department consists of nine attending physicians and eight physicists and is a part of the University of Virginia’s National Cancer Institute–designated Comprehensive Cancer Center. Faculty work in the Emily Couric Clinical Cancer Center, supported by advanced equipment including CT‑on‑rails guided brachytherapy suite, four Varian TrueBeam linear accelerators, an Elekta Esprit Gamma Knife, and a newly commissioned MRI linac. Responsibilities Provide comprehensive radiation oncology clinical services in breast, prostate, lymphoma, and pediatrics. Lead investigator‑initiated trials and conduct translational research. Participate in medical student education and mentorship. Contribute to collaborative research activities within the department and the broader academic community. Qualifications MD degree. Board‑eligible or board‑certified by the American Board of Radiology in Radiation Oncology. Eligibility for a Virginia medical license.
