OVERVIEW OF THE COMPANY Fox TV Stations is a group of 29 full‑power broadcast television stations in the United States, including affiliates in 14 of the top 15 DMAs and duopolies in 11 DMAs. 18 stations are affiliated with the FOX Network. The stations produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news per week and distribute sports, entertainment and syndicated content alongside FOX Network national programming. JOB DESCRIPTION Duties: The reporter will attend editorial meetings and contribute story ideas, weigh in on story selection, gather content for linear and digital programming, and help build the station’s reputation and community relationships. They will be responsible for writing stories for both linear and digital platforms. Equipment: The reporter will use Inews or another internal communication system, Slack, MyFoxPay and Workday. They should be able to shoot and edit a quality news package that meets market standards, including using a phone camera if necessary. Working Conditions: The primary work environment is the field, news vehicle, and newsroom building, with occasional time spent in the studio. Knowledge, Abilities & Skills: Bachelor’s degree in journalism, broadcast journalism or a related field is preferred. Minimum 3 years of experience writing and researching news, strong writing, communication, teamwork, and flexibility for irregular hours including holidays. Demonstrated knowledge of current events, social media trends and best practices.
