Part Time Librarian - Technical Assistant

Part Time Librarian - Technical Assistant SUNY Niagara is seeking to fill a part-time Librarian – Technical Assistant position. The role will be based at the Henrietta G. Lewis Library on the Sanborn campus and/or the Niagara Falls Culinary Institute satellite library during day and evening shifts. The position reports to the Public Services Librarian and will perform professional librarian duties, supporting students, faculty, and staff at SUNY Niagara. The primary responsibility is staffing a service desk to provide reference and research assistance across multiple modalities. Advertised Salary: $24.76 per hour. Typical Work Activities Provide academic reference service in person, by phone, email, and online chat Create and update instructional materials, including LibGuides as assigned Create displays and promotional materials related to library services Use Ex Libris Alma to assist with library projects Perform library instruction in person and online Assist in composing library reports and other documents as assigned Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors Essential Functions Operate computers and be sensitive to the diverse needs of the student population Exhibit excellent communication skills and engage with patrons in person, online, and by phone Learn new skills in a changing environment and prepare promotional materials, written reports, and presentations using technology Physically perform required duties and work a flexible schedule Required Qualifications ALA‑accredited master’s degree in Library Science and/or Information Science Desirable Qualifications Experience in an academic library Experience teaching EEO Statement SUNY Niagara does not discriminate and prohibits harassment or discrimination related to any protected category.
