Job Title: Warehouse Associate – Production, Material Handling, and Equipment Operation

Job Description

This role supports efficient warehouse operations in a heavy industrial environment by handling materials, operating forklifts and overhead cranes, and preparing products for production and outbound shipping. You will work closely with a team to pull, stage, package, and move materials safely and accurately while meeting daily deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Pull and stage material for production according to work orders and tags.
• Prepare and complete final packaging of material to meet quality and shipping standards.
• Operate forklifts or side loaders to move material safely throughout the warehouse.
• Operate overhead cranes to lift, move, and position heavy materials as required.
• Stage material for outbound shipping, ensuring accuracy of quantities, tags, and destinations.
• Follow established process flow for material handling, packaging, and order processing.
• Read and understand material tags and documentation to ensure correct handling and shipping.
• Meet daily deadlines and complete assigned warehouse tasks before the end of each shift.
• Use basic computer systems to record, track, or verify material movement and order status.
• Communicate proactively with team members and ask questions when procedures or tasks are unclear.
• Adhere to all safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area in a heavy industrial, high-activity environment.
• Participate fully in the multi-week training program, including safety training and shadowing experienced team members.
• Support team members in processing orders and assist with material flow across different shifts.

Essential Skills

• Experience in general production, warehouse operations, or material handling.
• Hands-on experience operating forklifts and side loaders in an industrial or warehouse setting.
• Experience operating overhead cranes for moving heavy materials.
• Experience in shipping and receiving or truck loading in a warehouse environment.
• Ability to maintain regular and reliable attendance.
• Basic math and reading skills to interpret work orders, tags, and documentation.
• Basic computer skills to navigate warehouse or inventory systems.
• Physical ability to lift materials and maintain flexibility to complete a variety of warehouse tasks.
• Comfort working in a heavy industrial, dirty environment with open doors and fluctuating temperatures.
• Capacity to work second or third shift schedules, including late evenings and overnight hours.
• Willingness to wear mandatory steel-toed boots and other required PPE.

Work Environment

The role is based in a heavy industrial warehouse that can be dirty, with open doors and significant temperature changes—cold in the winter and hot in the summer. You must be comfortable meeting daily deadlines before leaving each shift. The operation runs multiple shifts: second shift typically from 1 PM to 9 PM, and third shift from 9 PM to 5 AM, including work that finishes on Saturday morning. A structured training schedule is provided: Week 1 on first shift (7 AM to 3 PM) for safety training; Weeks 2 and 3 on second shift (1 PM to 9 PM) to learn process flow, material understanding, packaging, and tag reading while assisting the team; Weeks 4 and 5 on third shift (9 PM to 5 AM) to shadow experienced employees, continue training, and learn the dotting process. The culture favors self-motivated individuals who work well with their team and proactively ask questions. Dress code requires mandatory steel-toed boots, durable work pants, and a work shirt suitable for a dirty environment. All additional PPE, including hard hat, safety glasses, and ear and eye protection, is provided.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Newark, DE.

The pay range for this position is $21.64 - $21.64/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
