Job Details Location: PUC Community Charter Early College High School – Sylmar, CA 91342 Position Type: Seasonal Salary Range: $30.00 Hourly Job Shift: 10 Month Organization Overview Partnerships to Uplift Communities (PUC) Schools is a non‑profit network of public charter schools dedicated to increasing high school graduation rates, college entrance, and college graduation for underserved students in North‑East Los Angeles and the North‑East San Fernando Valley. Candidate Profile The ideal Athletic Coach is passionate about the mission and commitments of PUC Schools and demonstrates leadership, reflection, execution of school culture, and collaboration to ensure student success. Responsibilities Manage and coordinate practice and game schedules. Attend all practices and games. Understand and possess knowledge of the rules and regulations of the sport according to the school and league standards. Demonstrate respect and good sportsmanship at all times. Develop and encourage teamwork, sportsmanship, courtesy, fair play, academic excellence, and adherence to rules of training and conduct. Supervise the issuance, return, and care of all equipment, supplies, and uniforms. Coordinate with the Site Coordinator and Athletics Director to develop and communicate guidelines and expectations for student athletes. Report all injuries to the Site Coordinator and Athletics Director appropriately and promptly. Provide supervision to student‑athletes at all times. Ensure that student‑athletes are signed in appropriately and signed out at the end of practices to their parents/legal guardians, or other approved adults. Meet with Site Coordinator and Athletics Director as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Current CPR/First Aid card. High School Diploma or equivalent. Prior coaching experience and knowledge of sports rules and regulations. Prior playing experience (preferred). Skills and Abilities Excellent communication skills (verbal and written). Ability to motivate and provide leadership that promotes positive attitudes and good sportsmanship. Ability to work cooperatively with teachers and other staff personnel. Ability to establish good relations with individual students and groups. Must be flexible and team‑oriented. Can multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment. Bilingual in Spanish preferred. Strong work ethic, accountability, and ownership of work. Regular attendance, dependability and punctuality in conformance with the standards are essential. Physical Demands Occasionally require kneeling, climbing, reaching with hands and arms above shoulder level, lifting up to 30 pounds. Must bend, sit, stand, squat, stoop, walk, push, pull, and reach with hands and arms at shoulder level or below. Always required to wear the appropriate safety equipment for the task, which may include gloves, goggles, aprons, belts, etc. Compensation & Benefits Part‑time, hourly position. Eligible for California Sick Time. Ongoing Professional Development.
