Maintenance Technician

Maintenance TechnicianSURESTAFF is hiring for a Maintenance Technician for a client in Wheeling, IL. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining all mail and bindery production equipment within the facility, ensuring that downtime is kept to a minimum. Machinery involved includes CMC/W&D/ and Bell & Howell inserters, Domino/Scitex/ and Video Jet inkjet printers, Kirk Rudy Tabbers and Stackers, folding and affixing equipment, vacuum bases, hot melt glue systems, friction feeders, and various other finishing equipment.Pay Rate: $25-35/HR BOE Available shifts:2nd shift: 2:00pm-10:00pm3rd shift: 10:00pm-6:00amResponsibilities of the Maintenance Technician:Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain all plant mail and bindery equipmentConducts regular inspections of production equipment and performs daily preventive maintenance duties on plant equipment.Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipmentAssist and train operators in proper set-up proceduresMaintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.Report all safety hazards to shift supervisor and maintenance managerOther duties as assignedRequired Qualifications of the Maintenance Technician:3-5+ years of experience in maintaining mail and bindery equipmentIntermediate level of computer skillsFlexibility to work extended shifts and weekend hours when neededAbility to lift 50lbs+, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, be exposed to a humid and/or dusty environment, and stand/walk for long periods throughout a shift.Provide your own toolsBi-lingual, English and Spanish speaking a plusExperience with trades training or classroom instruction.About SurestaffAt Surestaff, we are dedicated to helping individuals unlock their career potential through meaningful job opportunities.
