Diesel Mechanic Day Shift

Job TitleTasksTest drive vehicles and test components and systems, using equipment such as infrared engine analyzers, compression gauges, and computerized diagnostic devices.Perform repairs on diesel commercial vehicles to include but not be limited to tractor trailers, tankers and Hot Oil trucks.Test and adjust repaired systems to meet manufacturers' performance specifications.Repair, reline, replace, and adjust brakes.Replace tires.Perform DOT inspections on commercial vehicles.Review work orders and discuss work with supervisors.Confer with drivers to obtain descriptions of vehicle problems and to discuss work to be performed and future repair requirements.Maintain workplace cleanliness.Adhere to safety policies and procedures.Performs other duties as assigned.Technology SkillsData base user interface and query software —Record keeping software; Vehicle management software (Fullbay)Information retrieval or search software — Online service manual database software; Technical manual database softwareSpreadsheet software — Microsoft ExcelKnowledgeMechanical — Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
