Registered Nurse Operating Room

Job Summary:


We seek a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse specializing in the Operating Room to provide skilled nursing care, case management, and support to patients undergoing surgical procedures. The Registered Nurse will perform patient assessments, medication administration, treatment planning, and collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary team to ensure quality care. Strong communication and teamwork are essential, along with at least two years of relevant nursing experience.

Responsibilities:

• Provide skilled nursing care in the Operating Room setting.
• Conduct patient assessments and monitor vital signs pre-, intra-, and post-operatively.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using EPIC charting system.
• Ensure adherence to infection control and safety protocols.
• Participate in case management and discharge planning as needed.
• Assist in preparing and maintaining the operating room environment and equipment.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of practice.
• Minimum of two years nursing experience, preferably in hospital, home health, or hospice care.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field.
• Clinical assessment, medication administration, and treatment planning skills.
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical record system.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Driver's license, car insurance, and automobile for field work if applicable.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience specifically in Operating Room nursing.
• Additional certifications such as ACLS, PALS, or CNOR.
• Prior experience in short-term acute care facilities.

Special Considerations:

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment.
• Evening shifts with 12-hour duration.
• Compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
• Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams essential.

Scheduling:

• Evening shifts, 12 hours each.
• Shift start as soon as possible.
• Schedule determined by hospital staffing needs.
