Room Service Server - Part Time (Day Shift)

We are currently seeking a talented individual to become a Room Service Server. An individual could be successful if they possess the following.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Room Service Server primary responsibility is to deliver food and beverages to guests in their hotel rooms while being prompt, friendly, and courteous. Always presents a friendly and professional image at Oaklawn Racing Casino Resort. The following and other duties may be assigned as necessary:

• Taking food and beverage orders from guests, often over the phone.
• Setting up trays and tables for delivery according to established standards.
• Carrying trays of food and drinks to guest rooms.
• Delivering food orders promptly and efficiently, ensuring accuracy and adherence to presentation standards.
• Ensuring guests have all necessary items for their meal (condiments, utensils, etc.).
• Checking completed kitchen orders against the guest's original order.
• Providing prompt, efficient, and courteous customer service.
• Answering guest questions about the menu.
• Making menu recommendations.
• Handling cash, credit card payments, and room charges.
• Maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor.
• Anticipating guest needs and addressing them proactively.
• Maintaining cleanliness of work areas, including room service trays and equipment.
• Picking up trays and carts from guest rooms.
• Following food safety and sanitation standards.
• Stocking supplies for orders.
• Strong communication skills: Being able to speak clearly and effectively.
• Attention to detail: Ensuring orders are correct and meeting guest needs.
• Ability to multitask: Handling multiple tasks and orders efficiently.
• Good organization skills: Maintaining a clean and tidy work area.
• Physical stamina: Being able to stand or walk for long periods and lift trays or push carts.
• Enthusiastically supports, actively promotes, and demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with department and company standards and programs, including Forbes standards.
• Maintains strict confidentiality in all departmental and company matters.
• Provides impeccable guest service to all guests: Being attentive, friendly, and helpful.
• Assists other servers in giving the best possible service.
• Handles guests' receipts according to internal policy.
• Remains up-to-date on casino events and hours of operation for all F&B outlets.
• Follows established procedures and policies of the Oaklawn Racing Casino Resort.
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. • High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two or more years' dining server experience required; fine dining preferred.
• Casino experience preferred.
• Must be able to handle several projects and tasks at the same time.
• Must be able to perform the physical job duties of all Food & Beverage team members.
• Must have the ability to interact with guests, staff and colleagues and resolve problems and conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES


This job does not have supervisory responsibilities.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in in English may also be required.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

• Employee must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state and local regulations.
• ServSafe certified.
• Must successfully complete R.S.A.
