This six-month locums opportunity offers day and night shifts, a supportive specialty backup team, and the opportunity to provide care in a community-focused Emergency Department.

• Day shifts: 7:00 AM-7:00 PM
• Night shifts: 7:00 PM-7:00 AM

Coverage Needed:

• Emergency Department physician coverage

Clinical Details & Responsibilities

Practice Setting:

• Hospital Emergency Department

Facility Details:

• 44-bed acute care hospital
• 10-bed Emergency Department
• Level IV Trauma Center

Emergency Department Volume:

• Annual ED volume: approximately 11,000 visits
• Average daily volume: approximately 31 patients/day
• Average patients per hour: 1.2
• Admission rate: 6.9%
• Transfer rate: 6.1%

Patient Population:

• Adult and pediatric patients
• Pediatric visits: approximately 22%

Clinical Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and treat Emergency Department patients
• Manage acute medical and surgical emergencies
• Provide appropriate patient disposition
• Coordinate admissions and transfers
• Collaborate with specialty consultants and hospital teams
• Participate in patient satisfaction and quality initiatives
• Document patient care using Meditech

Requirements

• Board Certified Emergency Medicine required
• ABEM certification required
• Active Texas Medical License required
• Active IMLC required (facility will only license candidates with active IMLC)
• ACLS required
• ATLS required
