Principal Specialist Procurement

Collins Aerospace has an opening for a Principal Specialist Procurement who is responsible for developing, improving, and monitoring a supply chain that provides products and services that meet or exceed the quality, delivery and cost objectives of the business. All phases of the procurement function are to be performed with the highest level of professionalism, honesty, and integrity.

This position is onsite at Troy, Ohio facility.

What You Will Do:

• Lead person for Indirect and Direct purchasing at large manufacturing site.
• Procure materials, supplies and services to meet the quality, delivery and cost objectives of the business.
• Manage and perform all functions of the purchase order process within the SAP system.
• Research, interview, monitor and evaluate suppliers for quality, delivery, total cost and service.
• Manage and perform all functions of the RFQ and RFP processes.
• Develop, implement and monitor lean/six sigma purchasing procedures and policies. Train as necessary.
• Drive value engineering efforts with key suppliers.
• Prepare and maintain all purchasing reports, records, files and related material.
• Ensure all invoicing is handled in a timely and accurate manner so that vendors are paid correctly and on time.
• Ability to provide remote support to multiple sites.
• Support and help implement supply chain initiatives at site.
• Travel up to 20% required.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience.
• Experience with purchasing and suppliers negotiation.

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Experience sourcing direct and indirect materials
• Scheduling experience
• Project Management & contract review experience
• Knowledge of Lean Principles and six-sigma
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
• Problem solving and organizational skills with the ability to multitask
• SAP and MRP experience
