Senior Casualty Underwriter
Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid – Minimum 3 days/week onsite)
Company: General Placement Service
General Placement Service is hiring a Senior Casualty Underwriter to join a respected insurance organization. This role is ideal for an experienced, strategic thinker who enjoys working in a collaborative, growth-focused environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Underwrite and manage large deductible, multi-line accounts
- Grow a profitable book of business and maintain a strong pipeline
- Analyze risk, pricing, and coverage to develop proposals
- Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers and clients
- Work with internal teams to ensure smooth execution
- Support strategy, innovation, and negotiation efforts
- Requirements:
- 5+ years underwriting large deductible or national accounts
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- CPCU designation
- Onsite 3 days/week in Chicago
- Proven success in production underwriting
- Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills
- Experience mentoring and managing client relationships
