Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: ED/Trauma Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 3rd 12 hour nights, every 4th weekend max Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum years of experience required License: Current state Registered Nurse License or a Multi-state Nursing License from a participating state in the NLC Certifications: - American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent - American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - Trauma Nurse course certification (TNCC) - American Heart Association (AHA) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within one year of hire Must-Have: - Clinical competence - Patient care management - Nursing theory - Nursing practice Description: The Registered Nurse is a practitioner responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for an identified group of patients in an inpatient environment. This individual demonstrates competency in the delivery of care to a primarily adult population. The Staff RN job description incorporates essential functions adapted from the ANA Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice. Clinical competence and experience in the care and management of target patient populations specific to the area of employment is required. Professional knowledge of nursing theory and practice is necessary and is normally acquired through completion of education at an accredited School of Nursing to be eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse.
