On Call Nurse Position At Heritage ChristianAs a registered nurse in an on call role at Heritage Christian you will be putting your critical thinking skills to work everyday while supporting the health and well-being of people with disabilities. The on-call nurse provides nursing direction and support related to acute and chronic medical concerns of the individuals we serve to direct support staff during evening, overnight hours and on weekends.Pay for this position: $33 / hr - $35 / hrThe salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above range represents the organization's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.ResponsibilitiesMaintain on call reference materials and have knowledge of these references to ensure proper techniques in taking calls, and triaging individuals for further medical assessment and care in a timely basis as indicated.Complete required documentationFollow agency written protocols regarding "on call" when answering callsAnswer calls promptly and must return calls within 30 minutesMake appropriate contacts for calls requiring triage of individual to After Hours Clinic or ED as well as with any questions or concernsComplete other duties as designated by Nursing Management TeamQualificationsNew York State Department of Education licensure as a Registered NurseExperience with person(s) with intellectual and developmental disabilities and long-term care experience are preferableAbility and temperament to work effectively with people with intellectual and physical disabilities is requiredFlexibility with scheduling; the ability to work evenings, overnights, weekends and holidaysOur Commitment to Equity and JusticeWe believe that people are entitled to dignity, respect, equity and justice.
