Dispatch Operator Night Shift

Primary City/State: Various Locations – Phoenix, AZ Category: Administrative Support Shift: Night (3rd shift) – Typing skills required Department: Central Communications Job Summary This entry-level healthcare position supports hospital operations as a PBX operator and security dispatcher. The role answers calls, dispatches resources to emergencies, and serves as a front-line customer service agent. The position works with state-of-the-art technology including software, surveillance equipment and is part of the hospital’s first responder network. The position may also be required to work on-call. Responsibilities Keep customer service as first priority in all interactions Answer and respond to internal, external and security dispatch call traffic Interact with multiple software platforms to problem solve and serve callers’ needs Provide numbers, resources and/or information to callers of all types Complete documentation for all calls and service lines supported Alert and activate resources to emergency codes, security issues including staff and patient needs Cover the Customer Navigation Center’s phones after hours, nights, weekends and holidays Activate mass notification calls, paging on-call resources and locate other as needed assets Monitor surveillance cameras, child abduction, radio traffic, monitoring software for facilities, panic alarms, etc. Maintain documentation for security tasks, deploy them to calls and track their movement Cover or take calls after hours for other service lines or call centers (Hope line, Cancer Center, Interpreters) Assist in training and precepting new staff Help maintain department resources, service books, downtime resources and flip charts Qualifications Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Associate’s degree preferred. Experience: Call answering and radio dispatching experience preferred. Hospital operator and/or security dispatching experience preferred. #J-18808-Ljbffr
