Assure positive sample, block and slide identification Prepare and maintain reagents for routine stains and histology procedures. Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and instrumentation per manufacturer and department procedures and schedule. Adhere to department policy regarding performance and documentation of quality control and quality assurance for instrumentation, equipment and procedures performed. You Should Have: High School Diploma required Associate’s degree preferred Minimum one year experience in a clinical laboratory setting preferred State license where required (CA, FL, GA, HI, LA, MT, NV, NY, ND, RI, WV) General knowledge of histology methods and correlation to disease processes Ability to follow protocols for fixation and routine staining of samples Ability to prepare and produce specimen sections with appropriate slide orientation, thickness, and stain quality for microscopic diagnosis by a pathologist Demonstrates good technique in cutting, embedding, orientation and staining of specimens General knowledge of laboratory accreditation and regulatory compliance requirements Excellent communication, teamwork and organizational skills; sets a positive example Effective and proactive problem solving and decision making skills HCA Healthcare is a full-service provider of clinical laboratory and anatomic pathology services with a network of core laboratories and hospital-based facilities.
