Clinical Nurse Coordinator Operating Room

Overview StoneSprings Hospital Center, part of HCA Virginia Health System, is seeking a Clinical Nurse Coordinator – Operating Room to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this leadership role, you will coordinate and deliver high-quality perioperative nursing care while supporting a culture of compassion, safety, and clinical excellence. Working closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical technologists, and fellow nurses, you will oversee the daily flow of the operating room, ensure adherence to evidence-based practices, and promote an ethical, patient-centered environment. Responsibilities As the Clinical Nurse Coordinator – Operating Room, you will serve as a clinical resource and role model for the OR nursing staff, providing guidance on complex patient cases, delegating tasks appropriately, and supporting staff development. You will participate in case scheduling and room assignments, help manage staffing and resource allocation, and ensure that equipment, supplies, and instrumentation are available and functioning for each procedure. You will be accountable for maintaining regulatory compliance, infection prevention standards, and documentation requirements, while reinforcing hospital policies and best practices throughout the perioperative process. Drawing on your operating room experience, you will participate in preoperative assessments, intraoperative care, and postoperative handoffs to promote optimal outcomes and seamless continuity of care. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to implement quality improvement initiatives, track key performance indicators such as on-time starts and turnover times, and support initiatives aimed at reducing surgical site infections and other complications. Your ability to function effectively in a fast‑paced, high‑acuity environment will be essential as you prioritize patient needs, respond to emergencies, and support staff during high‑stress situations. Qualifications Candidates should be Registered Nurses with substantial operating room experience, strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills, and demonstrated leadership ability. Familiarity with surgical procedures such as bariatric surgery, cardiology‑related interventions, robotic surgery, orthopedics, and maternity‑related surgeries is highly desirable. This is a full‑time, hospital‑based position that requires flexibility to work varying shifts, including early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends or on‑call assignments, in order to support the needs of the perioperative service line and deliver exceptional patient care. #J-18808-Ljbffr
