Position Summary:

The Construction Materials Manager is responsible for planning, procuring, receiving, storing, and distributing all materials needed for construction projects. This role ensures timely and cost-effective material availability while maintaining compliance with safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational and negotiation skills, deep knowledge of construction materials, and the ability to collaborate with multiplestakeholders including suppliers, site managers, and project teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Material Planning & Procurement:

• Develop and manage material procurement plans based on project schedules and

budgets.

• Source and negotiate with vendors and suppliers to secure competitive pricing and

reliable delivery timelines.

• Issue purchase orders and track delivery status.

Inventory Management:

• Monitor and manage inventory levels to avoid shortages or surpluses.

• Implement systems to track material usage and reconcile with project budgets.

• Coordinate with warehouse or on-site storage staff to ensure accurate stock records.

Logistics Coordination:

• Schedule and coordinate timely deliveries to job sites.

• Be on-site to receive, inspect, and verify material deliveries as needed, ensuring

accuracy and quality.

• Resolve delivery issues, delays, or discrepancies in collaboration with suppliers and

logistics providers.

• Ensure material handling and storage complies with safety and regulatory standards.

Quality & Compliance:

• Inspect incoming materials for quality and specification compliance.

• Work with project teams to confirm materials meet design and engineering

requirements.

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and material innovations.

Cost Control & Reporting:

• Track material costs and identify opportunities for savings.

• Prepare regular reports on material usage, inventory, procurement status, and cost

performance.

• Assist with forecasting and budget adjustments.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Supply Chain, or

related field (preferred).

• +3 years of experience in materials management within the construction industry.

• Strong knowledge of construction materials, building codes, and safety regulations.

• Proficient in materials management software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office.

• Excellent negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment:

• Mix of office and field/site environments.

• May require travel to job sites and supplier locations.

• Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required on construction sites.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract

Pay: $35,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
