Key Highlights Weekly pay: $1,669–$1,723 per week Guaranteed hours: 0.0 Contract duration: 13 weeks Shift: 3x12‑hour shifts (0700–1930) Location/Setting: Amsterdam, NY; adolescent inpatient behavioral health in a short‑term acute care setting Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care for adolescent inpatients with behavioral health needs, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Monitor patient status, vital signs, and response to treatment; administer medications per orders and document accordingly. Maintain patient safety and de‑escalation using CPI crisis intervention techniques as required. Collaborate with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other members of the multidisciplinary team; participate in treatment planning and rounds. Document thoroughly in the medical record; communicate changes in patient condition to the care team; participate in family education and discharge planning as appropriate. Respond to emergencies on the unit and implement approved protocols for crisis situations. Requirements Active New York State Registered Nurse license. BLS (Basic Life Support) certification. Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification. Minimum 5 years of psychiatric/behavioral health nursing experience; minimum 2 years of travel experience. Travel experience with renewals preferred; prior staff experience in this assignment is not eligible for travel consideration. Ability to work in an inpatient adolescent behavioral health setting and participate in a 3x12‑hour shift schedule (0700–1930).
