We are seeking an experienced HPC (High Performance Computing) Systems Administrator to support and maintain a mission-critical computing environment. This position combines hands-on hardware support, Linux systems administration, storage management, and operational coordination within a large-scale data center environment.

The ideal candidate has experience supporting HPC infrastructure, troubleshooting complex hardware and storage systems, and working within Linux-based environments. This is a highly visible role that helps ensure system availability, performance, and reliability for critical computing operations.

• Provide on-site support for HPC compute, storage, and infrastructure systems.
• Perform Linux systems administration across multiple Linux distributions, including Red Hat and SUSE environments.
• Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot high-performance storage platforms and parallel file systems.
• Support storage management operations, upgrades, health monitoring, and issue resolution.
• Run hardware diagnostics and assist with identifying and resolving system performance issues.
• Troubleshoot cooling infrastructure and data center environmental systems.
• Support tape storage operations and related hardware components.
• Coordinate maintenance activities and work with technical teams to ensure system stability.
• Troubleshoot InfiniBand connectivity and performance issues as needed.
• Facilitate operational meetings, track action items, and assist with project coordination activities.
• Follow documented procedures and best practices to maintain a stable and reliable environment.

• US Citizenship
• Experience supporting an HPC (High Performance Computing) environment.
• Linux systems administration experience, including troubleshooting and operational support.
• Experience with hardware diagnostics, break/fix activities, and infrastructure support.
• Experience supporting high-performance storage environments and parallel file systems.
• Knowledge of:
  • DMF (Data Management Framework)
  • Lustre
  • HPSS
  • IBM Storage Scale (GPFS)
• Understanding of data center operations and infrastructure maintenance.
• Experience troubleshooting storage, server, and hardware-related issues.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures in production environments.
• Ability to prioritize work and coordinate activities across multiple stakeholders.

• Experience supporting water-cooled or liquid-cooled compute environments.
• InfiniBand networking experience.
• Server installation and hardware deployment experience.
• Experience working with large-scale enterprise or research computing environments.
• Experience leading operational meetings and coordinating maintenance activities.

This is a Contract position based out of Shelton, CT.

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $65.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Shelton,CT.
