Job Opening: Float Pool RN – 3–12 Hour Night Shifts Capitol Hill Central Hospital Float Pool – 3‑12 hour night shifts. Float between ED/UC and Med Surg Telemetry. Experienced ED nurses are preferred. Must have American Heart Association BLS and ACLS upon hire; PALS within 6 months. Submission must include WA State and/or Multistate Compact RN license, BLS, ACLS, and PALS numbers with issue and expiration dates. Contract Differentials

Job Summary Provide nursing care to a defined group of patients, adhering to Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of Washington standards, nursing code of ethics, and policies. Coordinate and facilitate health‑care services across the delivery system. Deliver and coordinate care in collaboration with the health‑care team. As an RN, oversee and participate in patient assessment, and in the formulation and implementation of the care plan. The Hospital Float Pool RN will provide care in a fast‑paced ED/Urgent Care and Med Surg Tele unit that is increasing its level of care for higher acuity patients. Essential Responsibilities Conduct ongoing assessment of patient needs using the nursing process and nursing diagnosis. Develop written plans of care and assist patients/families in setting health‑care goals. Prioritize patient care based on needs and available resources, provide interventions safely and competently. Offer information to patients/families before interventions and provide telephone consultation as needed. Evaluate patient response to care, anticipate and recognize changes, and modify plans in collaboration with the health‑care team. Provide education and counseling tailored to patients' and families' learning needs and promote therapeutic compliance. Assess lifestyle risk factors and implement health‑promotion and preventive measures. Adhere to KFHPW documentation and safety standards, including infection‑control guidelines. Participate in staff orientation, education activities, performance reviews, quality‑assurance activities, and nursing research. Basic Qualifications Experience: None specified. Education: Associate’s degree in Nursing from an accredited program. License, Certification, Registration: Registered Nurse License (Washington) required at hire or Compact License; PALS within 6 months of hire; Basic Life Support required at hire; Advanced Cardiac Life Support required at hire. Additional Requirements: Strong communication, problem‑solving, leadership, and decision‑making skills. Preferred Qualifications Ambulatory care nursing experience. Primary nursing or case‑management experience. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Emergency department nursing experience. Pediatric Advanced Life Support at hire. ED/Urgent Care Patient population includes all ages with a variety of chief complaints (neurological, cardiac, minor injury or illness). Quickly prioritize and use critical thinking and clinical judgement for emergent and urgent care. Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with providers and Urgent Care staff for high‑quality patient care. Med Surg Tele Care Patient population includes admits from PACU and ED/UC requiring extended observation or admission, plus direct admits. Interpret cardiac rhythms and identify changes from baseline. Patient and team focused; strong communication.
