OVERVIEW Archer Western Construction is seeking a Carpenter for the Phoenix/San Juan Lateral WTP in Shiprock, New Mexico. The role involves constructing, erecting, and installing structures made of wood, plywood, wallboard, and other materials using hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery at commercial, industrial, or civil construction sites. RESPONSIBILITIES Measure distances and mark guidelines on the working surface for accurate layout Prepare, build, and install wooden structures in accordance with prefabricated units to form bridges, drain structures, walls, and related components Assist with installation of awnings and metal decking for concrete slabs when required Use carpenter’s belt with carpentry hand tools, power tools, and other wood‑making machinery QUALIFICATIONS 3–5 years of verifiable experience preferred Must be able to climb and maintain balance on scaffolds or ladders Must lift up to 50 lbs and work in adverse weather conditions Must comply with safety policies and procedures and communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors Must possess strong work ethic and willingness to learn Must have good manual dexterity; must be willing to stand, bend, kneel, or sit for extended periods Must pass pre‑employment drug screening EEO STATEMENT The Walsh Group, Ltd. is committed to providing equal opportunity to qualified applicants with disabilities to compete for jobs.
