See the Court Operations Clerk Minimum Qualifications section for details. The salary range for the Court Operations Clerk is $4,116 - $6,387/month. Benefits to You We pay 95% to 99% of medical insurance premiums for full-time employees, including mental health coverage. 10 paid holidays, 2 floating holidays, 3 personal business days, separate sick and vacation paid leaves (prorated for part-time employees), and other employee benefits such as optional insurances and flexible spending plans. OJD will pay you a 5% allowance for bilingual skills (includes ASL) if you can pass a skills test and are assigned to use those skills on the job. In this job profile, we offer candidates new to OJD up to the third step of the salary range, depending on experience. You are potentially eligible for a 5% annual increase. Position Highlights The Baker County Circuit Court in Baker City, Oregon, is hiring a Records Clerk (Court Operations Associate). In this role, you will help our court make a good first impression by greeting visitors and providing customer service at the counter, over the phone, and in writing. You will route phone calls, answer questions, and provide information about the court calendar and the status of cases. You will explain court policies and procedures to the public, litigants, and attorneys. For civil, criminal, domestic relations, and probate cases, you will perform data entry, prepare certified copies, scan documents, upload files into the case management system, and review documents for accuracy and completeness. You will also process court records requests and research archived records. As a cashier, you will process payments for filings, fees, fines, and bail. You will accept and receipt payments made over the phone and through mail, including personal checks and money orders. You will also open, manage, and balance an electronic payment till each day. You will spend part of your time helping attorneys and self-represented litigants file exhibits in PDF, audio, video, and physical formats for in-person and remote appearances. You will also help process the mail and provide backup coverage in the courtroom as needed. Assigned tasks may be changed to accommodate workload and organizational needs. Filling This Position This position will be filled one of two ways: By appointment of a candidate who meets the Minimum Qualifications (as identified below) for a Court Operations Associate; OR By developmental underfill of a candidate who meets the Minimum Qualifications (as identified below) for a Court Operations Clerk. Court Operations Associate Minimum Qualifications (These must be evident in your resume or work history.) The qualified candidate must have a high school diploma or equivalent. AND At least three (3) or more years of responsible experience in a moderately complex office or business setting involving the processing of financial, administrative, or legal documents. OR Any combination of education and experience equivalent to three (3) years of experience that typically supports the knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position. Court Operations Clerk Minimum Qualifications (These must be evident in your resume or work history.) The qualified candidate must have a high school diploma or equivalent. AND At least one (1) year of responsible clerical experience in a moderately complex office or business setting. OR Any combination of education and experience equivalent to one (1) year of experience that typically supports the knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position. Special Qualifications (These must be verifiable.) None. Requested Skills and Attributes (These must be addressed in your cover letter.) Experience prioritizing and performing a variety of clerical or administrative support tasks with strict deadlines in a busy business or professional setting. Proficiency using a computer to enter and retrieve data, schedule events in electronic calendars, and perform research and analysis. Experience providing customer service to a variety of individuals on the phone and in-person from diverse backgrounds and varying degrees of behavior. Skill in reviewing documents for accuracy and completeness. Experience handling cash or credit card transactions and generating receipts. Experience adapting to changing work expectations, processes, and technology. Working Conditions This is a full-time position, and the work schedule currently is 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. This position is eligible for overtime compensation for hours worked in excess of 40 per work week. Occasional after-hours or overtime work may be required. Some travel is required and primarily occurs during the business day. Some out-of-area overnight travel may be expected. Frequent phone and in-person contact with people from diverse backgrounds. Long periods of sitting or standing. Kneeling, bending, pushing, and pulling may be required. Regularly moving materials that weigh up to 10 pounds; occasionally moving materials that weigh up to 30 pounds. Regular use of the following equipment: telephone, OJD-assigned computer with multiple monitors, microfilm/reels, copy machine, fax machine, and scanner.
