We are seeking an experienced and motivated Landscape Construction Crew Leader to lead installation crews and deliver exceptional outdoor living projects throughout the Kansas City metro. Position Overview The Landscape Construction Crew Leader is responsible for leading a crew in the installation of high-quality residential and commercial landscape projects. This position oversees daily production, job site safety, quality control, crew development, and customer communication while ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to Rooted Landscape's standards. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who takes pride in craftsmanship, develops others, solves problems, and leads by example. What You'll Do Lead, coach, and develop a landscape construction crew. Set daily goals and assign responsibilities to maximize efficiency. Train team members on proper installation techniques, safety procedures, and company standards. Foster a positive, accountable, and team-oriented work environment. Conduct daily safety and equipment inspections. Lead by example with professionalism, integrity, and a strong work ethic. Landscape Construction Install patios, retaining walls, walkways, landscape plantings, drainage systems, grading, sod, mulch, landscape lighting, and other outdoor living features. Assist with the installation of outdoor kitchens, fire features, pergolas, water features, and pool-related landscape improvements. Read and interpret landscape plans, construction drawings, and site layouts. Ensure all installations meet Rooted Landscape's quality standards and manufacturer specifications. Operate skid steers, mini excavators, compact equipment, and other construction machinery safely and efficiently. Project Execution Coordinate daily production activities to keep projects on schedule. Monitor labor hours, material usage, and production efficiency. Identify potential challenges and communicate solutions proactively. Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites. Complete daily job reports and communicate project progress to the Design/Build Sales & Project Manager. Customer Service Serve as the on-site leader and represent Rooted Landscape professionally. Communicate with clients regarding project progress and expectations. Address questions and concerns promptly and professionally. Ensure customers receive an exceptional experience from start to finish. Equipment & Operations Maintain company trucks, trailers, tools, and equipment. Perform daily inspections and report maintenance needs. Ensure materials are used efficiently and minimize waste. Follow all company safety policies and OSHA guidelines. Qualifications Preferred Experience 3+ years of landscape construction experience. Previous crew leadership experience preferred. Experience installing paver patios, retaining walls, drainage systems, plantings, grading, and outdoor living features. Experience operating skid steers, excavators, and compact equipment. Ability to read landscape plans and construction drawings. CDL is a plus. Skills & Abilities Strong leadership and communication skills. Excellent problem-solving and organizational abilities. Commitment to quality craftsmanship and attention to detail. Ability to motivate and develop team members. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to lift 75+ pounds.
